Arg’s ex Lydia Bright ‘cruelly mocks his weight gain and calls him an elephant’

James Argent 's ex-girlfriend Lydia Bright has reportedly mocked his recent weight gain and cruelly compared him an "elephant".

Former Towie star Lydia, 29, reportedly made the comments during an appearance on Made In Chelsea cast member Jamie Laing’s Private Parts podcast.

During the show, she was asked about her two favourite animals for a psychological test.

Lydia picked an angel fish and an elephant and Jaime went on to explain that the first creature described her and the second represented how she sees her partner.

However, Lydia scoffed at the explanation – and said "elephant" would be better used to describe her ex – Arg.

According to The Sun , she said: "So what… It’s an elephant?

"Big and round – maybe if I was still with Arg."

Lydia dated Arg on and off for seven years but they finally called time on their troubled romance in 2016.

He went on to strike up a relationship with another Towie co-star Gemma Collins, but that romance broke down last month.

Arg has put on a lot of weight recently and is now trying to slim down after a warning from doctors.

He's on a new diet and exercise regime, and has been pictured tucking into a salad as he attempts to lose 10 stone.

The telly star recently admitted he was scared following some stern words from This Morning's Dr Ranj.

With Arg at risk of heart disease and type two diabetes, Dr Ranj said he needs to lose 10 stone and 17 inches off his weight.

The doctor suggested losing two pounds a week and cutting his daily calorie intake to 2,500 per day.

Reacting to the diagnosis, Arg said: "I’ve done it before so I can do it again.

"Before it’s all or nothing. I’m starving myself and its drastic and quick. It's not the way to go about it.

"What I’ve taken from the doctor is it's a long term goal.

"It's quite scary. 10 stone is a hell of a lot of weight and it’s a marathon. It seems like it’s not going to be a quick fix."

Mirror Online has contacted a representative for Lydia comment.
