Britney Spears’ mum files court documents to shake up singer’s conservatorship

Lynne Spears, 64, is reported to have become concerned with the Work Bitch singer’s condition after mass media speculation about Britney’s wellbeing reached fever pitch this month.

According to TMZ, Lynne asked her best friend, the wife of Louisiana’s Governor, to with help finding a lawyer.

It is not known if the lawyer she has hired has indeed been recommended by the Governor’s wife.

Reports add that Lynne is not trying to remove Britney’s dad Jamie Spears from his role of conservator or place a bid to become co-conservator – simply that she is wants to know what is going on with her daughter.

Britney’s dad Jamie Spears is the sole-conservator of the superstar after co-conservator Andrew Wallett resigned earlier this year.

The move, which TMZ report came as a surprise to Britney’s camp, is just days ahead of a scheduled court hearing into the conservatorship on Friday, May 10.

As part of the ongoing fan lead campaign #FreeBritney, supporters of the Gimme More singer are expected to protest at the fact Britney is in any form of conservatorship on the steps of the courthouse.

Over the weekend the online movement was given a significant boost after Miley Cyrus yelled “Free Britney” during a 20-minute festival set.

As well as previously recording a track – SMS (Bangerz) – together for Miley’s fourth album, Miley and Britney have also shared a manager, Adam Leber.

Last month Brit’s mum posted a cryptic Instagram quote which read: “When God’s warriors go down on their knees, the battle is not over; it has just begun.”

As #FreeBritney trended on social media around the world, she also liked a string of posts that argued the conservatorship should be dissolved.

Speaking to Daily Star Online in April, Britney’s former manager Sam Lutfi accused her current team of mocking Lynne, in claims which have not been contested by Britney’s camp.

“They are very mean to Lynne They make fun of her and they yell at her”

Sam, who was close to Britney during her infamous public breakdown in 2007, alleged: “Lou Taylor – Britney’s business manager – is the ringleader.

“They are very mean to her. They make fun of her and they yell at her.”

Not stoping there, Sam – who has been accused of releasing historic fake emails from the pop princess (something he strongly denies) – added: “I certainly hope Lynne does appeal to the court to be conservator.

“I hope she finds the confidence to stand up against Lou and Jamie and do what’s right.

“Unfortunately, over the past decade so far she has not.”

A rep for Britney Spears has been contacted by Daily Star Online.
