BBC Breakfast host Dan Walker goes sledging with family
Dan Walker, 43, has taken to Twitter to respond to a fan who admitted they felt worried about whether the presenter had “gotten up ok” for BBC Breakfast. It comes after the journalist gave fans an insight into his home life as he prepared to return to the programme after a break over the Christmas period.
Dan, who shares three children, Susanna, Jessica and Joe, with his wife Sarah Walker, posted a snap of the several alarms he sets on his phone for his early start on the show.
The host tweeted the photo in view of his 673,000 followers at 9.56pm last night, revealing he sets his first alarm at 3.11am ahead of setting three more to ensure he doesn’t miss work.
The earliest alarm is branded “feel the burn”, the second, “snooze you lose”, the third, “get up you massive horse”, while the fourth, set at 3.21am, is labelled “the claxon of disaster”.
The star, who hosts BBC Breakfast with Louise Minchin, humorously captioned the post: “And we’re back.

“See you in the morning on #BBCBreakfast … hopefully.”
Dan’s post sparked concern from some of his followers who wondered why he was up so late on Sunday night with such an early start on Monday.
One person replied: “How the hell can you present a breakfast show on like 4 hrs kip? That ain’t normal.”
Another added: “These are, quite frankly, awful and disturbing alarm setting times. No on the hours, 5 minutes gaps. I’m horrified.”
A third person questioned: “How are you even awake at 10pm? I’d have to be in bed by 5pm.”
A fourth fan commented: “Your wife must be elbowing you a lot saying just get up so I can go back to sleep lol.”
A fifth Twitter user also shared their sympathies for Dan’s other half, adding: “Does Mrs Walker have to be disturbed by your alarm four times!?”
After sparking a frenzy amongst his followers, Dan spoke out about his sleep pattern.
