Miley Cyrus had the birthday party of dreams thanks to Jeremy Scott and a troupe of drag queens.
Moschino designer Jeremy revealed that he held a ‘Night of 1000 Mileys’ for the star’s 28th birthday, with drag queens recreating some of her most iconic pop moments.
Jeremy posted on Instagram: ‘WHAT DO YOU GET THE BIRTHDAY GIRL WHO HAS EVERYTHING ?! A SURPRISE DRAG SHOW PAYING HOMAGE TO SOME OF HER ICONIC MOMENTS PERFORMED BY @thegigigoode @therosythorn @the_symone @myrubberchild & @grantvanderbilt FROM @thehouseofavalon I LOVE YOU TO PIECES SMILEY.’
The drag queens of the House of Avalon – RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 finalist, Gigi Goode, Rosy Thorn, Rubber Child, The Symone and Grant Vanderbilt – recreated some of Miley’s trademark looks for a show that we’re pretty gutted to have missed.
Firstly, Gigi and Rosy dressed as Hannah Montana and Miley Ray Stewart to lip sync to the Disney show’s theme song Best Of Both Worlds, before The Symone rocked out to 7 Things in bedazzled jeans.
Next up was Gigi modelling 2020 Miley’s mullet, with the queen wearing a cut-out purple velvet gown to perform her recent hit Midnight Sky.
As the grand finale, Rubber Child dressed in a weed-print bodysuit reminiscent of the Bangerz era, Rosy Thorn in Can’t Be Tamed era couture and Grant Vanderbilt in a red vinyl catsuit taken from the Mother’s Daughter video joined Gigi and The Symone on stage to lip sync to the evergreen bop Party In The USA.
Miley – herself wearing a red fur-trimmed jacket, studded boots and fishnets – couldn’t help but join in on the fun, jumping on stage to dance with the queens.
The party, held in a garden, was a relatively small affair, with the House of Avalon all coming from one household in Los Angeles.
A number of the attendees could be seen wearing face masks in the garden, while they all sat on individual chairs.
The party was not only for Miley’s benefit either, as Rubber Child revealed they had been raising money for Fair Fight to combat voter suppression.
Miley is known for her love of drag – for her Dead Petz era, she enlisted drag queens including Alyssa Edwards, Shangela and Laganja Estranja to perform with her at the MTV Video Music Awards.
And the star even dragged up as a man before appearing as a guest judge on the opening episode of season 11 of Drag Race.
The Wrecking Ball singer today drops her seventh studio album, entitled Plastic Hearts, and Miley had already promised it will be the rock album her fans have always wanted.
As well as containing Midnight Sky and her Dua Lipa collaboration Prisoner, the album features duets wth Joan Jett and Billy Idol.
