Janelle Monáe To Headline NYC Pride Island Festival

Janelle Monáe has been announced as headliner for the 2020 NYC Pride Island festival, which is set to take place on Saturday, June 27, at Pier 97 in New York’s Hudson River Park.

NYC Pride announced that Monáe will be part of the annual, weekend-long LGBTQ festival that will also feature Australian pop star Betty Who, Brazilian singer Luísa Sonza, Russian punk rockers Pussy Riot, and DJs Coco and Breezy.

“Pride means so much to so many of us, and to have the opportunity to share my live performance during Pride has always been a dream,” Monáe said in a statement.

“Celebrating Pride in NYC is a rite of passage for a queer person,” she added. “I am grateful for the community it creates, and I can’t wait to party with everyone.”

Pre-sale tickets for Mastercard holders are available through Thursday, March 12, at the NYC Pride site and individual Pride Island tickets will also go on sale March 13.
