In February, a source claimed there had been off-screen “tension” between Birds Of A Feather’s leading ladies Linda Robson, 63, and Pauline Quirke, 61. They added “real and tense issues” were the reason why the latter was not a part of the show’s 30th anniversary show in 2019 and the show’s 2020 Christmas special.

It’s a load of old codswallop.

Linda sparked further feud rumours after she included Lesley in a post about her loved ones on Valentine’s Day, but not Pauline.

The actress shared the post, writing: “A few (but not all) of my favourite gals #Galentine.”

Many of her 131,000 followers queried why her long-term co-star and friend was not a part of it.

One commented: “Where is Pauline? Very sad.”

A second wrote: “Well it’s clear it’s true as she’s not in these pics,” a second added, in light of the feud rumours.

Speaking out for the first time, the Loose Women panellist said there is no truth in the claims.

She told The Sun on Sunday: “Take no notice of what you’ve heard about me and Pauline falling out. It’s a load of old codswallop.

“Pauline just chose not to do Birds Of A Feather. She wants to concentrate on her acting academy, that’s that.”

As part of the Christmas special, Pauline’s character Sharon Theodopolopodous was scripted as being stuck on a cruise struck by Covid-19.

Linda said at the time: “The script for this special is brilliant, I promise we’ll have lots of laughs for fans of the show.”

Despite claims suggesting Pauline’s absence was due to a fall-out between the pair, the presenter said they are still very much good friends.

On whether her co-star could return to the show, she added: “I don’t know.”

The actress went on to suggest she is closer to Lesley off-screen due to the pair living closer together.

Lesley lives in Wandsworth, while Pauline is based in Buckinghamshire.

The Loose Women star said she often leaves her co-star “funny things” on her doorstep, such as “tweezers to pluck the hair on her chin”.

“Pauline lives in Buckinghamshire so it’s not as easy to get to hers.

“I’ve not left any funny things on her doorsteps,” she added.

The trio rose to fame in the sitcom, which first came to screens in 1989.

The popular series aired on BBC One for the first nine years, which was followed by a 16-year break.

In 2014, the show revived for a full series on ITV.
