A man was fighting for his life in hospital this morning after being shot in the head in North London in broad daylight.
The victim was shot on a main road in Enfield shortly after 4.30pm yesterday, with police erecting a cordon outside a pharmacy and bus stop.
The man was found with a serious head injury on Hertford Road, but no arrests have yet been made and a crime scene remains in place.

The road was blocked in both directions following the incident, with Transport for London having to divert bus routes 121, 191, 279 and 307.
It came 16 hours after a woman in her 20s was stabbed to death in East Ham, East London, in the early hours of yesterday, shortly before 00.45am.
Officers were called to a road where they found the woman with serious stab injuries. She was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital but later died.
Inquiries are ongoing to establish her identity and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course. A murder investigation has been launched.
