The Wagatha Christie drama cranked up a notch last week when it was reported by The Mirror that Coleen Rooney is using Rebekah Vardy’s kiss and tell story about Peter Andre to build her case in court.

In court documents, Coleen’s lawyers have put forward the article from 2004, in which Becky discussed intimate details about their alleged fling and said he was “hung like a chipolata”.

But it’s reported that Pete, 47, who has never publicly commented on the claims, feels he’s become embroiled in the scandal unnecessarily – and believes the WAG shouldn’t have involved him.

Sources claimed to new magazine: “Pete doesn’t understand why he’s been dragged into this – it’s nothing to do with him.

“This is between Coleen and Rebekah.”

Last week, Coleen, 34, also joked that Becky – who is suing her for libel – will “need all the money she can get” to take her on. And a second source has told new that Coleen has finally rediscovered her fighting spirit.

“Coleen has got her mojo back and she’s feeling strong again,” the insider claimed. “Her team are doing all their research and that’s why she’s brought up the Peter story.

“Coleen’s team is trying to build a picture of Rebekah’s character. Rebekah loves the fame and that’s the point Coleen is trying to prove. So Peter Andre could actually save Coleen!

The source claimed that while Coleen didn’t want things to go this far, she’s confident she will be victorious in court.

They said: “For Coleen, this isn’t about the money. But it is going to be a huge amount of money spent on the lawyers.

“Coleen is saying, ‘You know I’m going to win this. But for Rebekah, this is show time and she knows she’ll get global press, especially with her doing Dancing On Ice.”

Becky’s upcoming stint on the ITV show, which returns in January, is said to have spurred Coleen on and given her a boost ahead of her time in court.

“Coleen was very low. She went to Barbados and didn’t want to talk about the case and it was really getting her down,” the source continued to claim.

“But now Coleen feels Rebekah has gone one step too far with Dancing On Ice and trying to win the public’s favour. She thinks she’s going to be discussing it with everyone and trying to win popularity.

“Coleen thinks it goes to show she’s obsessed with publicity. She has put her head down and taken it seriously. Whereas she thinks Rebekah has played the victim. Coleen thinks, ‘If you’ve got a serious court case, what are you doing spinning around on a pair of ice skates?’”

Becky, 38, and Coleen’s fallout erupted in October 2019 when Coleen claimed Becky’s Instagram account was responsible for leaking stories about her – something Becky vehemently denies.

Coleen also alleges Becky, who is married to Leicester City striker Jamie, 33, purposely sat behind her at Euro 2016 to “maximise media attention” and claims she has a “habitual practice of providing private information”.

While the ongoing court drama is said to have taken its toll on Coleen, who is mum to sons Kai, 10, Klay, seven, Kit, four, and two-year-old Cass with husband Wayne, 34, it’s also brought her family closer together.

“It’s been a stressful time, but she’s been spending quality time with Wayne and the family and she’s got her sparkle back,” the insider claimed. “She’s feeling like, ‘Bring it on!’”
