Sam Thompson confused his fans and celebrity pals on Sunday night with a fake Zara McDermott engagement post as part of a hilarious prank.
Taking to Instagram, the reality TV star, 30, posted a video with the holding image of him kissing girlfriend Zara, 26, with the words: "She said YES!!!" and a heart emoji.
While he captioned the clip with: "Happiest day of my life….. Wonder how many people are gonna watch to the end" with laughing emojis.
Sam's followers and celebrity pals were quick to jump to the conclusion that he had popped the question as MAFS UK star Marilyse Elena Corrigan put: "Awww congratulations guys! Lovely news" with a heart emoji.
Iwan Thomas put: "Congrats" with two heart emojis.
While Jeremy Lynch added: "Congratulations to both of you" with Champagne glasses.
However, fans were quick to tell the stars to "watch the whole thing" as after the opening image on the video it quickly cuts to the duo dancing with the words: "…to doing a TikTok dance with me" followed with a laughing emoji.
Sam's 1.5 million followers were quick to react to the video, even joking their "day had been ruined" over the prank as they believed Zara had said yes to marriage not doing a TikTok dance.
One person said: "I’m actually fuming with this, genuinely thought you’d got engaged."
A different account put: "No I screamed then got fuming x."
Another follower wrote: "Why would you tease the world like this!!!!!"
While a different fan added: "I was so excited. You ruined my day."
The loved-up couple are currently on a romantic Barbados getaway to celebrate Zara's recent 26th birthday.
This isn't the first time the couple have sparked engagement rumours and in April the duo posted a very smitten snap.
Sam captioned the loved-up post at the time: “Found my partner in crime,” alongside a smiley face emoji and a red love heart.
The cute picture set tongues wagging, with many followers speculating that an engagement is just around the corner.
“I have a feeling an engagement post is coming,” one fan wrote, while another simply commented a string of ring emojis.
Another said: “If you like it then you should put a ring on it….#justsaying,” and a fourth questioned: “Sam where is the ring ???”
