Stacey Solomon drops huge hint shes replacing Phillip Schofield after This Morning exit

Stacey Solomon has sent rumours whirling that she could become a firm feature on primetime telly in the wake of Phillip Schofield's exit from This Morning.

The 33-year-old mum-of-five teased an "exciting" announcement to her followers, prompting some to believe she could take on a presenting gig on the popular ITV daytime programme.

In a recent Instagram Story, the bubbly Loose Women star, who boasts 5.6 million followers on the hit social media platform, could be seen writing a note in her diary.

She penned 'September 2023' and added a series of love hearts below it. According to the Daily Mail, Stacey then told fans: "Just had one of the most exciting meetings of my life.

"I can't even tell you how excited I am to share this with you soon. My dream."

Stacey, who welcomed her fifth child with husband Joe Swash in February of this year, then added a string of crying emojis to her post.

This Morning veteran Phil, 61, called it quits after 21 years of fronting the beloved breakfast show, following reports of a "feud" with his long-time co-host – and one time best pal – Holly Willoughby, 42.

In a statement confirming his departure, Phil said: "I have always been proud to cover fascinating stories on This Morning. But recently, This Morning itself has become the story.

"Throughout my career in TV – including the very difficult last few days – I have always done my best to be honourable and kind. I understand that ITV has decided the current situation can’t go on, and I want to do what I can to protect the show that I love.

"So I have agreed to step down from This Morning with immediate effect".

Holly Willoughby, who has co-hosted This Morning alongside Phil since 2009, will remain on the show. The mum-of-three will co-present with a series of other hosts – but the search is reportedly on for a more permanent replacement.

Stacey Solomon is no stranger to presenting, and has been a regular panellist on ITV's Loose Women. She's also featured on This Morning on multiple occasions.

Viewers seem keen for Stacey to potentially replace Phil, with many taking to Twitter to share their thoughts. One said: "Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon would be brill together as hosts".

Another said: "After all the #ThisMorning madness, I think they should just ask Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon to be presenters! They would be perfect!"

Stacey is currently filming a new show, Brickin', which will air on Channel 4. The show will follow people who have been exploited by builders, or are otherwise unable to finish their projects.
