Strictly’s Giovanni Pernice has gushed over his dance partner Rose Ayling-Ellis as the couple prepare to appear in the 2021 final.
Giovanni, 31, spoke about his life changing experience of working with Rose, 27, on the show, calling it the “most beautiful thing that ever happened in my entire life”.
Appearing on It Takes Two, the pair were asked what winning the show on Saturday evening would mean to them and Rose began to cry as Giovanni gave an emotional description of what being on the show has meant to him.
“I think personally Rose deserves the best thing in the world,” Giovanni explained.
“As the family said, she just realised that she can do anything she wants, so for us we’re going to go there tomorrow night and we’re going to enjoy ourselves but I think we made a big impact.”
As Rose struggled to hold back tears, Giovanni said to her: “You are the most beautiful thing that ever happened in my entire life. So I’m very grateful and very privileged to be the one on that journey with you, so thank you.”
The pair will appear in the Strictly final with pro dancer Johannes Radebe and Great British Bake Off Winner John Whaite, after presenter AJ Odudu had to pull out of the competition at the last minute due to an injury.
Giovanni and Rose were spotted leaving filming of It Takes Two after they’d enjoyed a festive Christmas meal together.
Photographed looking relaxed and cheerful together, Giovanni looked smart in a grey suit jacket, tie and trousers, while Rose looked stylish in a fitted green floral dress and heeled boots.
Earlier, the pair had taken to Instagram wearing paper crowns as they told Christmas cracker jokes to each other.
Giovanni and Rose got into the Christmas spirit as they had a festive dinner for two.
Giovanni begins the video with the camera on himself and announces: “So Christmas for two”.
Spinning the camera round to his dance partner, the EastEnders star then tells a cracker joke.
Rose says: “Merry Christmas. Can I ask you… why can’t you play a joke on a snake?”
Giovanni replies: “I don’t know Rose”, to which Rose then delivers the punchline, saying “Because you can’t pull their legs!”
The final of Strictly Come Dancing 2021 will air on BBC One at 7pm on Saturday 18 December.
