TALK OF THE TOWN: Vanessa Kirby gives the mother of all performances

TALK OF THE TOWN: Crown actress Vanessa Kirby gives the mother of all performances by handing out pregnancy and birthing advice on the set of her latest Netflix hit

She wowed audiences as Princess Margaret in The Crown, but if Vanessa Kirby fancies starring in another period drama, I’ve got just the show: Call The Midwife.

Since playing an expectant mum in the film Pieces Of A Woman, Vanessa, 33, can’t stop handing out pregnancy and birthing advice.

Vanessa, who shadowed midwives for the Oscar-nominated role, says: ‘Whenever I see a pregnant lady, I feel so connected to them, but then I feel like such a fraud because obviously I haven’t done it at all – I’m just an actress who’s pretended.’

Sabrina Percy has taken easily to marrying into a multi-million-pound fortune… she’s munching caviar for breakfast!

The Tatler cover girl, 29, who is married to Franco Manca pizza chain heir Phineas Page, told her social media fans the caviar, salmon and toast concoction was ‘brain fuel’.

Gaia lays down the rules

Watching her daughter Gaia in school plays can’t have been much fun for Oscar-winning actress Dame Emma Thompson – she wasn’t even allowed to applaud, let alone enjoy a crafty snack.

‘I used to give her a list of things that she was not allowed to do because it would embarrass me. Like, don’t clap too loudly, don’t say my name really loudly, don’t stand up, don’t eat crisps at the beginning or chew really loudly,’ says Gaia, 21, whose dad Greg Wise, above with Gaia and Emma, is currently competing on Strictly.

There’s no way extrovert Emma stuck to that set of rules.

Forget Jumpin’ Jack Flash – here comes Jumpin’ Jack Trash.

When Sir Mick Jagger went on a whistlestop tour of Nashville ahead of a Rolling Stones gig in the ‘capital of country music’ last night, he skipped some of its more celebrated landmarks in favour of a scrapyard.

The 78-year-old shared this photo with his 2.2 million Instagram followers, with the caption: ‘Exploring Nashville!’ ‘You visited a garbage heap?’ replied one confused fan.

You’d think most youngsters would be thrilled at moving into Deene Park, a stately home with 568 acres to explore.

But when Charlotte Brudenell told her then 13-year-old son William about the switch, he had one condition: no wi-fi, no William! Charlotte says : ‘I had to laugh.’ Not what my reaction would have been…
