Alright, guys. The royal bb is officially upon us as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed a boy this morning! This is major news, and the palace released a statement congratulating the couple on their new kiddo. But some people are wondering who all the people on said announcement actually are.
Here’s what it said: “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Lady Jane Fellowes, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer have been informed and are delighted with the news.”
“The Duchess’ mother, Doria Ragland, who is overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild, is with Their Royal Highnesses at Frogmore cottage.”
Okay, yep, that’s all fine and good but… who are Lady Jane Fellows, Lady Sarah McCorquodale and Earl Spencer? If you’re being grouped with the literal QUEEN OF ENGLAND, you better be important, right?
Here’s what we know. All three of the very British sounding people are Princess Diana’s siblings, which would make them the great aunts and uncles of the royal bb. Because Princess Diana, who would be this baby’s grandmother, has passed away, it makes sense that Diana’s family would want to be involved in this kiddo’s life and therefore would be attached to this birth announcement.
