I’m a mum-of-ten and this is what my $1k weekly shop looks like… I need a trolley for the loo roll alone

KEEPING a family fed and watered can be an expensive task.

But for mum-of-ten Alicia Dougherty, the grocery bill can go into four figures.

Alicia took to TikTok to share a video of herself and her daughter going grocery shopping, with the pair hitting the BJ's Wholesale Club store.

"We needed paper towels and toilet paper," she began, adding that she also grabbed a few birthday presents for one of her 10 kids.

As well as bottled water and other drinks, she had a whole cart full of fresh goods, including satsumas, grapes, apples, celery, salad and avocados.

Then it was onto the dairy section, where she picked up six packs of grated cheese, cheese strings and cream cheese, as well as a whole heap of yoghurts.

Chicken noodle soups that Alicia was "really excited about" also hit the trolley, along with products from the frozen aisle.

Meat next, and among the things purchased were minced beef, pepperoni, hot dogs and bacon.

As a busy mum, Alicia does a lot of baking, and had to stock up on some baking ingredients during the trip – including a giant bag of granulated sugar.

Canned items and snacks concluded the shopping trip, with the pair forced to put all their purchases through the self checkout as that's the only one that was open.

And the cost of the grocery haul?

A staggering $1,007.

Despite this, Alicia admitted that the store didn't have everything that she wanted, so she'd have to "go to a different store tomorrow for the rest".

"Damn $1000 for groceries and it still didn’t have things u need," one person commented on the video.

Others insisted the total bill for the 99 items was cheap, with one writing: "1,007 dollars for 99 items? that's awesome .I wish it were that cheap here."
