Princess Charlene beams in trouser co-ord as she matches husband Prince Albert of Monaco for coronation celebrations | The Sun

PRINCESS Charlene beamed as she arrived for coronation celebrations with her husband Prince Albert of Monaco in matching outfits.

Albert, 65, and Charlene, 45, last night stunned on the red carpet, with the princess donning a gem-encrusted trouser co-ord.

The prince wore a matching tie as they arrived at Buckingham Palace along with 100 other overseas royals and world leaders.

The couple is parents to twins – Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella – who were not in attendance.

However, Albert told guests he would "bring them any little 'trinket' I can put my hands on," as a memento from the service.

It comes after the palace was rocked by rumours of a split between the royal pair.

Princess Charlene and Prince Albert don matching outfits after split rumours

In April the French publication Royaute claimed that Princess Charlene and Prince Albert were in the process of divorcing.

However, these rumours have been strenuously denied by the palace so far.

South African-born Charlene tied the knot with Albert in 2011 in a £53m ceremony dubbed the "biggest party in 55 years".

The prince proposed with a stunning ring designed by Paris-based Italian jeweller Repossi, featuring a handcrafted pear-cut diamond flanked by smaller diamonds.

During the ceremony, they exchanged Cartier 18-carat white gold platinum rings.

Former Olympic swimmer Charlene was seen laughing as she placed the ring on her husband's finger.

At the time, some in the French press dubbed her the "Runaway Bride" for allegedly trying to flee before the ceremony.

However, these reports were also strongly denied at the time.

More shocking reports emerged last year claiming that Charlene was being paid by her husband to appear at his side for royal events.

A sensational report by French media outlet Voici claimed Charlene is being paid "£12 million euros [£10.2m] per year" to fulfil her role as consort, as part of an "ultra-confidential contract" she would have made her husband sign.

Rival publication Paris Match Belgium also reported that Albert “would himself pay a tidy sum to the princess so that she appears at his side at public events”.

Royals in Monaco don’t receive a salary, meaning the princess is most likely reliant on her billionaire husband.
