Royal Family news – Prince Andrew could LOSE title ‘as Barack & Michelle Obama choose Team Queen over Meghan and Harry’

PRINCE Andrew could finally stripped of his "His Royal Highness" status as he faces a lawsuit for allegedly raping a 17-year-old trafficked by Jeffrey Epstein.

The Duke of York had reportedly been hopeful for a return to public life – but this may have been shattered as he could lose his title after already being removed from frontline duties.

The news comes as Barack and Michelle Obama aren't fans of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's treatment of their families, an expert has claimed.

In what many have perceived as an A-list snub, neither the Duke nor Duchess of Sussex made an appearance at the former US President's 60th birthday party over the weekend.

Although it is unclear whether Harry and Meghan weren't invited or simply didn't want to attend, royal expert Camilla Tominey suggested the Obamas may not be keen on the Sussexes relentless attacks on their families.

She wrote in the Telegraph that Meghan and Harry's recent sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey may have isolated the couple

"It arguably will not have gone down particularly well with a couple that have always put 'family first' to see Harry and Meghan being so openly critical of their Royal relatives during their Oprah interview," she added.

ROYAL PHOTOGRAPHER SAYS PRINCE WILLIAM AND KATE MIDDLETON ARE THE ‘BEST THING’ TO HAPPEN TO THE MONARCHY

Kent Gavin developed a close bond with Princess Diana when he worked as a photographer for the royal family. He was also the photographer for Prince William’s christening.

Gavin has since said that William and Kates’s recent approach to royal life can help the monarchy continue to thrive despite Harry and Markle’s step back.

He said: “It’s the best thing the royal family could have”. Continuing, he’s also mentioned the monarchy “is in good hands with those two, and the little ones as well.”

VICTORIA BECKHAM EMBROILED IN MEGHAN MARKLE FEUD AS SHE FACES CHOICE BETWEEN ROYALS

Victoria is finding herself trapped between a royal feud ahead of son Brookyln’s wedding to fiancée Nicola Peltz next summer.

She has the difficult job of deciding who is to be invited for the big day, and it’s already proving to be a headache. Following Meghan and Harry’s departure from the UK and Royal Family, Victoria is worried about reigniting the feud between Wills and Harry.

Husband David has been friends with both Prince William and Prince Harry, while Victoria has become friends with Meghan in recent times.

A source has explained: “Vic’s a bit concerned about inviting both couples and all the attention being focused on the warring Royals rather than her son and his future wife.

“Whoever they don’t invite, it will look like a snub and she’s worried that if she invites both, it will create conflict for her and David given they want to remain on good terms with both couples.

“She’s understandably worried about being dragged into Meghan’s feud.”

MEGHAN MARKLE ‘WANTED TO BE A BRAND’ WHEN SHE QUIT ROYAL FAMILY, EXPERT CLAIMS

The couple sensationally quit as senior royals early last year and claimed that they would “work to become financially independent”.

Using Megxit to it’s fullest potential, Meg and Harry though they “have got to be brand”. However, after being told by the Place that they could not bag on the Sussex Royal name for their fame, Royal author Tom Quinn, claims this caused an “unholy scrap”.

“They wanted to be Sussex Royal. Again this is an American culture thing coming in via Meghan.

“She, having crossed the Atlantic, began to think ‘we have got to be a brand’.

“That terrible word that the Royal family would always think ‘they’re talking about brands, it’s awful!’”

Tom added: “It was the Royal family again saying to them… ‘You can’t just carry on with the titles you had when you were working members of the royal family.’”

    SECOND LAWSUIT CONTINUED

In her testimony in 2016, she said Andrew and Virginia Giuffre – then Roberts – were sat on a couch with a Spitting Image puppet on her lap.

She added: “And so then I sat on Andrew’s lap – and I believe on my own volition – and they took the puppet’s hands and put it on Virginia’s breast, and so Andrew put his on mine.”

A source has now told the Mirror: “JoJo has never been driven by money, but she does want to see justice served,” they said.

“Her attorneys are closely looking at the act to see what redress may be open to her.”

The Sun has contacted a representative for the Duke for comment but the Prince has vehemently denied the allegation in the past.

    SECOND LAWSUIT?

The crisis surrounding Prince Andrew may get much worse as a second sexual assault claim could be made against him.

Jeffrey Epstein’s former PA Johanna Sjoberg claims the Duke of York, 61, groped her breast when she was 21 years old.

Previously she had been unable to sue because of the amount of time that had passed.

But a likely change in US law could mean Ms Sjoberg may now be able to have her allegations heard in court.

In June, the New York State Senate passed the Adult Survivors Act, which relates to survivors of sex crimes who were 18 or older when abused.

If signed into law it will ensure those who stayed silent are able use civil courts to seek justice.

MEGHAN MARKLE AND KATE MIDDLETON BOTH NAMED IN VOGUE’S TOP 25 LIST OF INFLUENTIAL WOMEN

In previous years, he fashion bible has only chosen to feature one member of the Royal Family in their annual list.

But this year, both the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge get a nod for their respective philanthropic efforts.

Explaining why mum-of-three Kate deserves a place on the list, the judges wrote: “With the flashier end of royal duties largely on hold during lockdown, it was her charity work rather than her fashion choices that pulled the majority of headlines.

“She used the pandemic to launch major campaigns around early-years development and continue her work trying to lift the stigma around discussing mental health, as well as supporting those living with childhood trauma.”

    HEALING HOPES

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s rift with the Royal Family is “too big” for Princess Eugenie to heal – despite hopes she could bring the peace, a royal expert has said.

It was speculated this week that Eugenie, 31, could help build bridges between the Duke of Sussex and his family.

Royal author Phil Dampier believes ongoing tensions between Harry and his family are so big, Eugenie’s influence is unlikely to have any impact.

“I personally don’t think there’s much Eugenie can do at the moment to heal the rift,” Mr Dampier told The Sun Online.

“I think the rift is too deep for her to play a major role in healing it.”

ANDREW ACCUSER SAYS SHE ‘FEARED DEATH’ IF SHE DID NOT SLEEP WITH HIM

Virginia Roberts Giuffre has told how she “feared death” if she did not sleep with Prince Andrew in an explosive lawsuit.

The 38-year-old victim of Jeffrey Epstein is now suing the Duke of York, almost two years exactly since the disgraced financier was found dead in a New York jail awaiting trial for conspiracy and child sex trafficking charges.

Ms Giuffre claims she was abused by Prince Andrew at Epstein’s Manhattan home, on his private Caribbean island, and at Ghislaine Maxwell’s home in London.

Andrew, 61, has always denied any allegations that he had sexual contact with Ms Giuffre or that he had any knowledge of Epstein’s wrongdoing.

But he is the only defendant named in the 15-page lawsuit, brought under New York state’s Child Victims Act, though Epstein and his former girlfriend Maxwell are mentioned frequently throughout.

ANDREW MAY NEVER RETURN TO ‘ROYAL FOLD’

The Duke of York may never return to the “royal fold” as a working member of the monarchy following Virginia Giuffre’s decision to sue the Queen’s son for alleged sexual assault, a royal expert has said.

The duke does not have to attend or give evidence in the civil proceedings in New York, but the legal action will be a further blow to his reputation and the standing of the monarchy, according to Joe Little, managing editor of Majesty Magazine.

He said about the Epstein scandal: “It’s damaging not only for Andrew but for the institution of the monarchy itself because all sorts of allegations have been thrown at the institution since all this came to light – and the perception is, most likely incorrectly, they are not taking it seriously.”

Mr Little added: “While the legality and situation itself haven’t really moved on at all, in terms of his working royal role that has shifted significantly and it’s hard to see how he can resume life as a working member of the royal family.”

Andrew stepped back from public duties after the backlash from his Newsnight appearance, dubbed a “car crash”, which had attempted to draw a line under his relationship with Epstein – but instead saw him heavily criticised for showing little empathy with the sex offender’s victims.

“I can’t think any kind of rehabilitation that will bring him back into the royal fold as a working member of the family,” added Mr Little.

PRINCE HARRY FOCUSED ON ‘SURVIVAL’ AS RIFT ‘NOT A PRIORITY’ FOR WILLIAM, CLAIMS EXPERT

Prince Harry’s reconciliation with his brother Prince Willima does not seem top priority, as he’s more focused on his ‘survival with Meghan, a royal commentator claims.

Ms Schofield, who runs the website To Di For Daily, said: “I am still not convinced that there is a looming reconciliation.

“I don’t suspect that it is a priority for Prince William to patch things up with Prince Harry as they are at severely different stages in their lives.

“It appears that Prince William is busy trying to support his family through death and scandal while Prince Harry is concentrating on projects that are financially beneficial.”

MEGHAN MARKLE DEFENDED BY KARREN BRADY OVER ‘PUBLICITY STUNT’ BIRTHDAY VIDEO

Meghan’s released her 40×40 scheme for her birthday last week and has since been accused of staging a publicity stunt. But the Duchess of Sussex has received backing The Apprentice star Karren Brady for doing her bit to help others.

In her column for The Sun, Karren wrote: “Some are calling it a publicity stunt, but still, what a brilliant line-up of women she has queuing to help other women.

“Whatever you think of Meghan, this is such a positive way to mark turning 40 – by inviting women to help other women back into the workplace.

“We all need a mentor and a helping hand, and even those who say it is ‘woke’ and ‘publicity seeking’ surely have to acknowledge that this is a positive initiative.”

    FERGIE’S BACK

Fergie was set for her first Balmoral summer break after more than 25 YEARS after arriving at the Queen’s home with Prince Andrew yesterday.

The Duchess of York was BANNED by Prince Philip after her bitter split and divorce in the 1990s.

Fergie, 62, who lives with Andy, 61, at Royal Lodge in Windsor, was usually kicked out of Balmoral when Philip arrived for the annual summer trip.

But the Duke of Edinburgh died aged 99-years-old in April and this summer will be the first time the entire royal clan has met since his funeral.

Philip had always refused to be under the same roof as Fergie since her divorce from Prince Andrew in 1996.

Insiders say he blamed her for publicly humiliating the Queen and the Royal Family over the years.

PRINCE ANDREW’S RAPE LAWSUIT IS LAST THING ‘EXASPERATED’ QUEEN NEEDS

The monarch and her third child had dinner together last night at her retreat Balmoral Castle just hours after he was served US summons over allegations he abused a 17-year-old girl trafficked by paedo Jeffrey Epstein.

And while The Queen will be putting on a brave face, she will be feeling the heavy weight of the shocking allegations, Royal commentator and author Angela Levin told The Sun Online.

Andrew has fiercely denied any allegations, says he has no memory of even meeting alleged victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre, and he had no suspicions of Epstein's wrongdoing during their friendship.

Her Majesty will attempt to keep things as normal as possible, the expert believes, but she will be privately exasperated with the Duke of York – who has often been described as her "favourite son".

Royal Family courtiers may be considered their options with Andrew – with the next steps potentially being to take away his HRH title, or kicking him out of his residence, the historic Royal Lodge at Windsor.

It will be the first summer without Philip after his death aged 99 in April for The Queen, and Ms Levin says the Duke's absence will leave a "big hole" in the family as they attempt to weather this latest storm.

She said the ongoing scandal was the "last thing" the Queen needs following her beloved husband's passing, with the Duke often described as her "rock".

PRINCE ANDREW DASHES TO BALMORAL TO SEE QUEEN HOURS BEFORE BOMBSHELL LAWSUIT ACCUSES HIM OF ‘RAPE IN FIRST DEGREE’

The Duke of York, 61, left for Balmoral with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson hours before a US summons was sent to his Windsor home.

His accuser Virginia Giuffre’s lawyer last night warned a criminal probe could be opened into the royal’s alleged abuse of the then-17-year-old. David Boies, speaking exclusively to The Sun, said prosecutors began investigating Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell after civil claims against them.

Ms Giuffre’s lawsuit says she was “forced to have sexual intercourse with Prince Andrew against her will” and lists offences including “rape in the first degree”.

A Balmoral source said of Her Majesty, faced with the fallout from Megxit and whose husband Philip died in April: “The Queen could do without this after the year she has had.

“Summer at Balmoral is a special time when the family come together, take stock, relax and recharge their batteries.

“But the first thing she is having to deal with is her 61-year-old son turning up on her doorstep with his ex-wife, hours after learning he is being sued for allegedly abusing a 17-year-old girl.”

OBAMA SHUNS MEGHAN AND HARRY IN EMBARRASSING BIRTHDAY SNUB

According to a royal expert, Meghan and Harry were snubbed by Barack Obama after leaving them out of his 60th birthday party list. Apparently, it is because they are not “in the same league as other A-list celebrities.”

Dickie Arbiter, a royal expert and former press spokesman for the Queen, said: “it is not a surprise at all. There was speculation they would be invited but I don’t think they were ever even on the list.”

He continued to say: “The Obamas have invited not just A-listers but the double A-listers.

“You are talking about Oprah Winfrey, the Clooneys, and Rihanna.

“Meghan and Harry are just not in that same league of celebrity. They are not double A-listers.”

QUEEN PUT THE ‘MONARCHY FIRST’ AHEAD OF PRINCE HARRY AND MEGHAN MARKLE, ROYAL EXPERT SAYS

Reportedly “hurt and disappointed” by Megxit, the Queen adopted a monarchy-first mindset.

Royal author Matthew Dennison has said that the monarch has consistently honoured “her father’s belief that ‘the highest of distinctions is the service of others’, she had placed the monarchy first”, meaning she left little wiggle room for Harry and Meghan to exercise any of their royal duties while across the pond.

While the Queen has been firm in her decision “putting the monarchy first” and “still loving and supporting Harry and Meghan” are not mutually exclusive terms.

With this in mind, Matthew states that, “Elizabeth had never been a sentimental woman; she had acted in the only way she understood.”

SLICE OF CHARLES AND DIANA'S WEDDING CAKE SALES FOR £1,850 AT AUCTION – 40 YEARS LATER

A slice of the Prince and Princess of Wales's wedding cake has fetched £1,850 at auction – more than 40 years after Charles and Diana tied the knot.

The large piece of cake icing and marzipan base from one of the 23 official wedding cakes features a sugared onlay of the royal coat-of-arms coloured in gold, red, blue and silver.

It was given to Moya Smith, a member of the Queen Mother's household at Clarence House, who preserved the topping with cling film.

She kept it in an old floral cake tin and taped a handmade label to the lid, reading: "Handle with Care – Prince Charles & Princess Diane's (sic) Wedding Cake", which she signed and dated 29/7/81.

Mrs Smith's family sold the cake in 2008 to a collector, but it has come up for auction again, coinciding with what would have been the Waleses' 40th wedding anniversary on July 29.

The cake went under the hammer at Dominic Winter Auctioneers in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, on Wednesday afternoon, and was expected to fetch between £300 and £500.
