How to dress for a Christmas party
While it's fun to dress up for a special occasion such as Christmas, it is always best to make sure you feel comfortable and like what you are wearing.
A general rule for dressing for a Christmas party is to wear something that you would wear to a restaurant or bar- and then add a little something extra to it.
This could be a clutch or a favourite piece of jewellery or a sparkly heel.
If you want to get your glam on, it has to be a party dress. Fabrics that work well for Christmas party dresses are velvet, sparkly, black or colourful material.
Make sure you prepare for the weather too. If it is an indoor party, a strappy dress and heels may work well as it will be nice and cosy inside.
But, if you're in a larger venue or somewhere that has a large outdoor space, you may need a shrug, a bolero or a cardigan of some kind to take the chill off. You can also purchase amazing see-through style tights that are actually thermal but look translucent. Toasty.
How to dress up a Christmas jumper
While the weather outside may not be fabulous, you can still look it. Wearing a Christmas jumper is always festive and fun, and you can even add your own personalised touch to the whole affair.
Make it sparkly. Team your jumper with an absolutely stunning party dress and heels for a bit of glitz and glam or wear with your favourite trousers and add some sparkling jewellery.
Cinch the waist. If you want to make it look more fitted or it's a longer style jumper, a belt is very flattering. You can use a thin belt or a thicker style, depending on the look you wish to achieve.
Cosy but glam. If you're likely to feel cold, a warm pair of tights is a must. Find some ones that compliment your jumper and add a touch of glamour at the same time. We love the gold ones by ASOS and the diamante ones from H&M.
