A Scottish paranormal investigator who tours the United States chasing ghosts has shared some of her spookiest experiences.

Jade Capasso, 28, moved from her home town to California eight years ago in the hopes of finding greater opportunities.

Now, she tours haunted hotels, spiritual hotspots and historic sites and shares her paranormal findings with her Ghost Club Paranormal YouTube channel and Instagram followers.

Jade has thousands of fascinated followers and often guest speaks on paranormal podcasts.

Speaking to Daily Star Online, the young ghost hunter explains what her job entails, her creepiest encounters with spirits and how you can try to have a paranormal encounter.

Jade claims she’s been aware of the paranormal since she was young.

The investigator said: “I can usually sense if there is something there, it’s something I have been known to do since I was a child.

“They don’t talk to me directly though, that’s where the equipment comes in.

“Paranormal research has always been a passion of mine, I find the whole subject fascinating, so I started my Instagram and Youtube channel to document my findings.”

Soon after Jade began filming, her channels were flooded with messages from people looking for help with paranormal activity in their homes.

Jade continued: “As an investigator it’s my job to look for any natural explanations before jumping to paranormal.

“If I’m doing an investigation for YouTube, I’m there to connect with a certain spirit that is said to be haunting that location and let the viewers know if it is really haunted or not.

“If I’m going into a residential investigation, then I am there to help the family understand what’s going on and work with them to help get rid of what could be attached to them or their house.

“It’s helping people that is the most rewarding part of all this, and I don’t think I could ever stop doing that now.”

In fact, helping people with ghostly invaders is important to Jade and so she doesn’t take any money for home investigations.

So, what equipment does Ghost Club Paranormal use?

Jade explained: “I like to use multiple devices on an investigation to capture visual evidence.

“The equipment can pick up on electromagnetic energy, disembodied voices and changes in temperature.

“They are tools to make communication easier.”

She continued: “Some techniques will allow a spirit to answer with intelligent responses to the questions you may have.

“When you have multiple devices responding at the same time, that’s a great indication that there is a spirit trying to communicate.”

And, boy, has Jade had some interesting experiences with the dead.

The paranormal investigator explained: “One of my favourite haunted locations to visit is the Fairmont Hotel, located in Deadwood, South Dakota.

“This place is full of ghost stories and amazing history. It’s also the final resting place of Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok."

She continued: “The hotel was the happening gambling hall and brothel back in the day and a lot of unsolved suicides and murders took place there.

“I had travelled five days to the location and the first room I went into, all three cameras drained instantly of battery.

“Something did not want us there.”

However, that’s not the most ghoulish interaction Jade has had with a spirit – that happened in her home country.

Jade told us: “I have travelled all over the states in search for the paranormal but nothing has compared to the very haunted city of Edinburgh, Scotland.

“This is where I saw my first full body apparition or ‘ghost’ and it was terrifying.

“She was in the stairwell of the flat I grew up in.”

“She was floating three feet above the ground and dressed in black rags with a hood covering her head and face."

Jade continued: “I believe she was a victim of the black plague from Edinburgh back in 1645.

“One day I want to return to that location and conduct a full investigation and see if she can appear for me again.”

While many enjoy listening to the paranormal investigator's ghost stories, others have a negative response to them.

The influencer admits many have misconceptions about her work.

Jade said: “Some people confuse paranormal researchers for witches or devil worshipers.

“That’s not the case at all – I know doctors, teachers and dentists who are also amazing paranormal investigators.”

So, it seems people from all walks of life can listen in on the murmurings of those beyond the veil…

Will you try the same this Halloween?
