2. No experience? No problem!
Admin jobs range from first job and entry level roles right up to senior administrators and company secretary positions.
Learn the ropes in a basic role and you’ll gain invaluable experience to rapidly move up.
3. Get qualified
In the UK, there are a number of recognised and valued admin courses.
These include The Administration Pathway: Reception focusing on reception and entry level jobs to Level 6 Diploma in Business Administration and even a MBA Master of Business Administration.

4. Want to specialise?
Every company and every sector needs administrators, but you can also choose to focus on a certain sector.
Tech administrators need to understand the complex industry language and are well paid for their knowledge, while admin staff in events or the entertainment industry may be required to travel and be flexible with their working hours.
Work out what you want as an ‘extra’ to your key role and focus on a job which provides this.
5. Want to work abroad?
Every major firm in the world has some form of admin department, so if you want to work abroad then your skills will be sought after internationally.

The Job: Third Republic is hiring a Salesforce Administrator to join its Salesforce team.
What You’ll Do: In this role you’ll be expected to provide daily support to customers by overseeing requests and incidents and addressing them in the ticketing system, overseeing user licenses, creating and making changes to formula fields, validations, sharing rules, record types, assignment rules, reports, views and dashboards.

The Job: The claims team at insurance tech firm Marshmallow is recruiting a Senior Claims Administrator.
What You’ll Do: This role will be responsible for reviewing claims and determining whether they are able to be closed.
You’ll raise payments, provide claims advice to suppliers, and completing additional administrative functions to support the total loss process.
You’ll also be expected to complete regular file audits and support the team with general housekeeping functions.
