I suggested threesome with neighbour and hubby loved it – now were a throuple

A married couple have wed their neighbour and become a “throuple”.

Kerrie and Matthew Phillips were hitched for 20 years before they became pally with police officer Amanda Watkins, who moved in next door.

The threesome eventually decided to all date each other and last month got married in a blessing ceremony in front of 100 guests.

The relationship echoes ones had by former boxing champ David Haye, whose fling with singer Una Healey and his girlfriend Sian Osborne made headlines.

Mum-of-four Kerrie, 44, said: “Matthew and I had a normal marriage. This came completely out of the blue.

“Me and Amanda started chatting over the garden wall and quickly became firm friends.

“Matthew sulked a bit at first, he accused Amanda of stealing his wife because we were as thick as thieves.

“He’d come home from work and find us giggling outside together. It only made us laugh harder and in the end, Matthew gave up and joined us.”

The stay-at-home mum, from Merthyr Tydfil, added: “I joked about us having a threesome and I could see Matthew was excited by the idea.”

Things moved quickly and after seven months together, Matthew surprised Kerrie and Amanda when he got down on one knee and proposed to them both.

Kerrie, added: “There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when the three of us exchanged our vows. We wrote them ourselves and it was really emotional. Everyone cried.”

Amanda, 42, says: “We’d love to knock through and make our houses into one big one so we can live together now we’re married.’

Matthew, a 46-year-old security guard, added: “I have two best friends. I think it was meant to be. When you know, you know.”
