I’m 47 and she’s 39.
I have a daughter who my girlfriend hates.
Every time I get in from work, my partner begs me to go to the shop to buy her more cheap wine.
Sometimes I go but on occasions I say no because I’m tired.
Then we end up in an argument.
My daughter is going to university near where we live and she has said she wants to live with us.
But my girlfriend says she can’t face having my daughter living here for three years while she studies.

DEIDRE SAYS: In a quiet moment, explain to your girlfriend that her drinking is worrying.
Urge her to get some help by contacting charity We Are With You (wearewithyou.org.uk).
You deserve to be with somebody who has more respect for you and your daughter.
Only you can decide who lives with you. If your girlfriend doesn’t like it, perhaps it’s time to move on
