Adam Sandler has played quite a few iconic characters throughout his movie career. And in Saturday Night Live‘s May 4 episode, one sketch jokingly suggests many of those characters were inspired by his own family members. The skit shows Sandler attending his family reunion as he’s approached by relatives — played by a few familiar faces, such as Shawn Mendes, Kristen Wiig, and Jimmy Fallon — who sound and act very comparable to some of his on-screen personalities, including those in Happy Gilmore, Big Daddy, Waterboy, and The Wedding Singer. Sandler is then confronted by his family about using them for material. The actor insists it’s not true, but it’s hard to deny considering the uncanny similarities.
