While some celebrities such as reigning champion Bill Bailey and Louise Redknapp make it all the way to the final without having to battle it out in the dance off, others have found themselves regularly trying to gain the judges' vote…

Jamie Laing

Jamie dropped out of the 2019 series of Strictly due to landing awkwardly on his right foot and damaging the tendon. The former Made In Chelsea star returned in 2020 but didn't get an easy ride. He found himself in the dance-off four times with partner Karen Hauer.

He was unbeatable in the position and made it all the way to the final. It became such a big part of their journey that Jamie and Karen even decided to base their Showdance on their ability to survive choosing the song 'I'm Still Standing' by Elton John. The start of the routine even involved a red spotlight shining on them, as it does when a pair are announced as being in the bottom two.

Charles Venn

Karen Hauer once again found herself supporting her celebrity partner through multiple dance-offs. Despite finding himself in the bottom four times in 2018, Charles made it all the way to week 11 when he was knocked out the competition by future finalist Ashley Roberts.

Jamelia

Jamelia holds the record for the most amount of dance offs having survived five with partner Tristian MacManus. Her time finally coming to an end in week nine of the 2015 series, when she was beaten by Peter Andre.

After three consecutive weeks in the dance-off Jamelia said making it through week seven without having to perform twice as akin to winning.

She said at the time, “I felt like I’d won Strictly Come Dancing! Last week was probably the week I actually expected to be in the dance off and to know that I’d been voted through by the public was an amazing feeling."

Heather Small

The singer should feel she did something to make herself feel proud, as she was able to get through four dance offs. The judges kept saving her, but in week eight her luck came to an end when Rachel Stevens brought her time on the show to an end.

Despite it being the performance that meant saying goodbye, Heather and partner Brian Fortuna ended on high. Len said, "That last tango was the best I've seen Heather dance. Well done."

Michelle Williams

Destiny's Child fans weren't able to keep Michelle Williams away from elimination in 2010. Despite being one of the favourites, she found herself in four dance offs before leaving the competition.

After knocking out Paul Daniels, Peter Shilton and Jimi Mistry, it was Felicity Kendal who proved too tough to beat in week seven.
