Tattoo artist shows off bulging ‘ink sack’ formed under freshly injected design

A tattoo enthusiast was eager to show off her latest inking – but many people were surprised by a giant bubble on her arm where the skin was healing.

In a video, the tattoo fan Jade who is on TikTok as @vampyur, explains the phenomenon is an "ink sack" full of plasma and claims it is beneficial because, unlike a scab, it's unlikely to scar and ruin the design.

Jade, 19, pushes and prods the blister-like formation and zooms in on the skull drawing beneath.

The body artist does her own inking and has previously had "ink sacks" before, with other videos showing the odd bubbles appear on other areas of freshly-inked skin.

In the caption, she jokes: "Lmao another ink sack?! I did these tattoos on myself!

"Also, this is completely normal it’s all plasma!

"You keep it wet for the healing process."

Jade has an adhesive bandage called Saniderm over the tattoo, which keeps the wound moist and clean so it can heal.

Other methods are to use gentle skin cream and clingfilm, cleaning with antibacterial soap in-between dressings.

The original video has been watched more than 2 million times, but her follow-up showing the healed result got a whopping 48 million views and thousands of comments.

Many seasoned tattoo addicts were baffled and admitted they'd never seen an "ink sac" before.

One commented: "I have a lot of tattoos but never in my life did I have a freaking ink sack.

"It doesn't look safe, I know they white ink at the end but this?"

"I have just one question I just wanna know what is an ink sac and how does it happen?" said another confused viewer.

Someone else commented: "Nice! Although the ink sack alone was kinda cool."

Jade has since turned off comments because she was getting too many people asking the same questions.
