THOMAS TUCHEL'S Chelsea reign started with a 0-0 draw against Wolves.
The Blues dominated possession at Stamford Bridge as a new-look side failed to find a way past their stubborn hosts.
Here, Simon Phillips delivers his Chelsea player ratings…
Edouard Mendy – 6
Not much for Mendy to do to be honest, as those ahead of him completely bossed possession.
Cesar Azpilicueta – 7
Quiet game for him, he didn't really need to get involved too much as Chelsea were just keeping possession very well.
Did his job well and got more involved in the attacking play in the second half.
Thiago Silva – 7
The Brazilian made some great tackles and was his ever calm-self on the ball.
Didn't have hardly any defending to do, but he was progressive on the ball from deep.

Antonio Rudiger – 6
Didn't really put a foot wrong after being asked to play on the left side of the three at the back, calm on the ball and did his job well.
One dodgy moment in the first half giving away a dangerous free kick.
Callum Hudson-Odoi – 7
Looked a real threat on the right with his pace and caused a lot of problems for Wolves, including a number of threatening crosses.
Jorginho – 5
Made some decent interceptions and tackles, but doesn't bring enough advancing with the ball.
A little too similar to Kovacic to play alongside him, I think.
Mateo Kovacic – 8
Controlled the play well in the middle of the park and was always available for the pass.
Dictated Chelsea's possession-based game well and made some good through passes.
Ben Chilwell – 4
Pretty poor show from Chilwell, he didn't really turn up for this one at all.
He kept giving the ball away, missing simple passes and looked a bit out of sorts.
Hakim Ziyech – 7
He didn't get involved enough in the gaps as much as he needed to in the first half, but came alive a bit more in the second half and looked to orchestrate some nice moves, unfortunately to no avail.
Kai Havertz – 6
A few moments of spark including a great driving run from deep into the Wolves box early on.
But easily knocked off the ball too often despite some lovely touches.
Olivier Giroud – 5
His touch was off in the first half and he was rather static in a central position to be honest.
He was too easy to mark. Didn't do anything good of note and wasted a rare chance to start.
Christian Pulisic for Chilwell (76 mins) – N/A
Tammy Abraham for Giroud (76 mins) – N/A
Mason Mount for Ziyech (82 mins) – N/A
