  • THE TOP 10

  • SCENES OF JOY

Look what it means to the first French winner of a race since Olivier Panis in 1996.

Look what it means to a home team in Italy…

  • 'CRAZY'

Race winner Pierre Gasly: “It's unbelievable. It was such a crazy race and we capitalise don't he red flag. The car was fast.

“I have been through so much in the space of 18 months. My first podium last year and now my first win in F1.

“I have no words. This team have done so much for me. They gave me my first opportunity in F1, my first podium and now my first win.

    “It's crazy – I'm so happy.”

  • SO CLOSE

Second placed Carlos Sainz: “I wouldn't have believed I had a chance for victory today.

“In a normal race I think I could've been P2 behind Lewis because we had good pace.

“I think getting back from P6 to P2 and finishing three or four tenths behind, we should be proud of that and the pace of the car.”

  • STROLL IN THE PARK

Third-placed Lance Stroll: “It's been a couple years since I've been on a podium and it feels good to be back.

“It was such a crazy race and I'm so happy for Pierre, he deserves it.

“I think a win slipped away from us today, but third is great.”

  • PIERRE GASLY WINS THE ITALIAN GP

Incredible stuff. Sainz is second . Stroll third. Norris fourth. Bottas fifth, Ricciardo sixth and Hamilton in seventh.

  • FINAL LAP

Sainz is so close but Gasly is still holding P1

  • GASLY STILL IN CONTROL HERE

He is looking ice cool. Sainz has cranked up the McLaren to attack mode.

This is going to be close.

  • LAP 57

Hamilton moves back in to the points and gets past Raikkonen.

  • 10 LAPS TO GO

Can Gasly hold on? If so, he would become the first Frenchman to win an F1 GP since Olivier Panis won the 1996 Monaco GP.

  • AFTER THREE OR FOUR LAPS HE FINALLY GETS IT DONE

Hamilton gets past Albon and then makes light work of Russell.

He is getting the job done afterall.

He is in to 13th and has Grosjean and Latifi in front so he should still be on for a points finish here.

  • HAMILTON STRUGGLING TO GET PAST ALBON

I would not be surprised to see him retire from this race, saving the mileage on his car.

With Verstappen also retiring and Bottas down in fifth, he won't be losing too much of his lead in the championship.

    On to the next one….

  • BOTTAS FINALLY OVERTAKES ANOTHER CAR

Very disappointing day for Bottas. Terrible start and now only just made it up to fifth place.

  • LAP 35

Stroll now gets past Raikkonen but that was close, they almost touched wheels.

So it is Gasly vrs Sainz vrs Stroll for the win.

    Norris now in P4.

    Great for McLaren this.

  • LAP 34

Sainz and Raikkonen keep it clean as the McLaren man gets past the Finn and into second place. Great stuff from Sainz.

  • HAMILTON FIGHTING

He might be in 15th place but he has just set the fastest lap.

Let's see where he can finish.

  • LAP 32

After Hamilton and Giovinazzi's stops we can now see the clear order at the front. It is Gasly, Raikkonen, Sainz, Stroll, Norris, Bottas, Ricciardo, Ocon, Kvyat and Perez.

  • VERSTAPPEN RETIRES

The Dutchman is out of the car. A blow for Red Bull.

    Alex Albon currently in P14.

  • LAP 30

Hamilton is running in last place as a result of his 10-second time penalty.

  • LAP 29 HAMILTON PITS FOR PENALTY

He is into the pits and will stop for 10 seconds.

    That puts Gasly into P1

  • EXPLOSIVE RESTART

Hamilton leads while Stroll runs off track and rejoins back in the pack. It is Hamilton, Gasly, Raikkonen.

  • HERE WE GO

Who is going to win this?

  • RACE IS RESTARTING

    Standing startfor the restart.

Hamilton will serve his time penalty, as will Giovinazzi.

That will leave Stroll in P1 followed by Gasly and then Raikkonen.

  • RACE WILL START AT 16:20 LOCAL TIME

Hamilton now is a race to get back in the car.

  • HAMILTON IS FURIOUS

He has been out walking around the main pit building here in Monza, presumably speaking to the stewards.
