Former WWE star Erick Rowan breaks down in tears as he makes AEW debut to pay tribute to tragic pal Brodie Lee

FORMER WWE star Erick Rowan broke down in tears on his AEW debut as he paid tribute to his friend Brodie Lee.

Wrestler Lee, real name Jonathan Huber, died of a non-Covid related lung issue after a hard-fought battle.

He was also known as Luke Harper during his time in WWE.

Rowan made a shock appearance on rival show AEW Dynamite when he came out to help his old mate's faction The Dark Order defeat The Inner Circle.

After the match Rowan, also known as Erick Redbeard, held a signup in tribute that read: “Goodbye for now my brother. See you down the road.”

The show started with the traditional ten-bell salute to honour the fallen hero.

Lee's wife Amanda then came to the ring with their son Brodie Jr, and laid a pair of his boots down in the ring.

AEW president Tony Khan, alongside Cody Rhodes, presented Brodie Jr with a TNT Championship Belt For Life.

The eight-year-old was also involved in the match between The Dark Order and The Inner Circle.

He hit MJF with a kendo stick showing he is learning fast from being signed up by AEW.

Lee – The Exalted One – debuted in AEW in March having made his name as Luke Harper during his seven-year stint in WWE.

Since the devastating news was announced, there has been a huge outpouring from fans, loved ones and a host of fellow wrestlers.

His wife Amanda revealed his death herself on social media, and she has continued to use her online platforms to continue honouring his memory.
