Prediction

Pistons 112, Knicks 106

Moneyline (ML)

Despite some injury woes, the PISTONS ( -115) should take this one on home court, making their ML the STRONGEST PLAY. The Knicks, who are on a three-game skid, are -106.

Pistons C Andre Drummond has been a force, leading the NBA in rebounds (19.4 RPG), while averaging 21.2 points per game. With his last outing (15 points, 24 rebounds), Drummond became the first player in team history to have four consecutive games with at least 15 points/20 rebounds.

The Pistons have won the last seven head-to-head meetings with the Knicks, including sweeping last season’s series 4-0. Detroit has also won the last six home games vs. New York.

Keep an eye on Rose’s status. If he’s out, there is no play here.

New to sports betting? Bet $11.50 to profit $10 with a Pistons win. Every $1.15 wagered profits $1 in this scenario.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The Pistons are a small favorite ( -1.5, -106), but the ML is my preference. I don’t want to lose a bet if Detroit only wins by one point, and risking the ML’s -115 cost isn’t much more than the -106, here.

Detroit is 3-5 ATS overall and 2-2 ATS at home. The Knicks (+1.5, -115) are 4-3 ATS overall and 3-1 ATS on the road.

Over/under (O/U)

PASS on the projected total of 210.5(O: -125, U: +105). While New York is 1-6 O/U on the season and Detroit is 0-6, this number is just too low – thus the higher -125 cost.

Backing the Over costs $1.25 to profit $1, whereas betting the UNDER would profit $1.05 on every $1 wagered.
