Sky Sports host Kelly Cates stuns fans with X-rated joke about BBC porn prank as she responds to Gary Lineker's tweet | The Sun

SKY SPORTS presenter Kelly Cates had fans in stitches with an X-rated joke about the BBC's porn controversy.

A bizarre "porn noise" interrupted the pre-match build up to Liverpool's 1-0 FA Cup win over Wolves, leaving viewers stunned.

It was later revealed that a mobile phone had been strapped to the TV set at Molineux by a notorious prankster.

Daniel Jarvis, who is a serial pitch invader, activated the sexy sounds ring-tone by calling the mobile as he watched BBC1.

After discovering the device, BBC host Gary Lineker, 62, posted a picture of it to Twitter and said: "Well, we found this taped to the back of the set. As sabotage goes it was quite amusing."

And Cates, 47, left fans stunned with her X-rated response to broadcasting legend Lineker.

She quote retweeted the picture of the taped-up phone, and wrote: "A strap on."

Her pun raised the eyebrows of some Twitter uses, while others crowned Cates' post as "Tweet of the year" already.

One fan wrote: "Is something I never thought I’d see Kelly Cates tweet. 2023… the gift that keeps on giving."

Another surprised fan responded: "Hahahaha I didn’t expect that tweet."

A third replied to Cates: "Going to call it… funniest tweet of 2023."

And another added: "Tweet of the year!"

The BBC issued an apology after the honking noises interrupted their coverage.

But Lineker claimed they had "nothing to apologise for", and in fact he found the whole thing "funny".

He told Newsnight: "If you told me this morning that tonight I’d be on Newsnight talking about a porn scandal I would have been terrified.

"When it started, I did recognise that sound. I think we’ve all been done with that when you open up a WhatsApp or something.

"It was so loud I couldn't hear anything that either Danny Murphy or even when I spoke to Alan Shearer. I could hardly hear what they said when the thing was going on.

"I have to say I think it's funny."

He added: "The BBC have issued some sort of apology, I know not why. It's certainly got nothing to apologise for.

"It was quite hard to carry on the pre-match build-up and take it seriously when this was going on in the background.

"As pranks go, it was a good one and credit to them. It was funny I thought."
