Tyson Fury says ‘the BBC would never let me win even if I knocked out King Kong’ as he snubs SPOTY for Florida

TYSON FURY snubbed the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year awards in favour of a trip to Florida to watch Orlando Magic take on the Atlanta Hawks.

The WBC heavyweight champ claimed he wouldn't be given the award 'even if I knocked out King Kong'.

So in the meantime, Fury decided to soak up the Florida sun alongside his family whilst the BBC 'get on with their SPOTY in winter'.

He told the Daily Mail: "The BBC would never let me win even if I knocked out King Kong.

"I will be relaxed in the Florida sunshine while the BBC get on with their SPOTY in winter.

"Even if they did want to give me another Special Award, which they did once, I won’t be making another speech for them."

Fury threatened the BBC they would hear from his solicitors if they even put him on the list.

The 33-year-old called for the award to be given to someone 'who needs it'.

The Furys also enjoyed Disney and extended an invite to old rival Deontay Wilder and his family.

Fury and Wilder endured a brutal three-fight battle over the WBC crown.

And Fury says the pair need to sit down and reflect on the physical toll their fights will have on their bodies in the long run.

When talking about his rented house for the trip, Fury said: "It's a huge place.

"With an enormous swimming pool. Room for all and I've told Deontay we're right handy for Disney World."

He added: "This will take years off our lives.

"We will feel the effects of this in our later days."
