Batman spotted on top of Liverpool’s Liver Building as stunts are filmed

Residents of Liverpool were treated to the sight of Batman hanging out on top of the Liver Building as stunt men filmed scenes for the upcoming movie.

A stuntman in full costume was seen right at the top of the iconic building, as he leaned toward the edge while suspended by wires.

The body double for lead actor Robert Pattinson, 34, clearly doesn’t have a fear of heights as he stretched his arms out wide while leaning over the edge.

The film, which is reportedly costing £100million, has been shooting in various locations around the UK, including in Glasgow’s Necropolis cemetery.

While the plot of The Batman is yet to be revealed, the movie is due for release in 2022 after filming was put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Filming was once again halted temporarily after Robert himself reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 and the cast and crew had to isolate for 14 days.

Things soon got back up and running again once quarantine was over, and filmmaker Matt Reeves revealed that Liverpool would play a key role in The Batman.

Matt revealed at DC FanDome that Liverpool would be the backbone for Gotham City in the upcoming movie and where many of the outdoor scenes would be shot.

Despite Liverpool being in Tier Three restrictions due to the pandemic, filming was allowed to continue with Robert being seen filming scenes as Bruce Wayne in the city.

The cast and crew were seen wearing masks when not on camera, and a Liverpool City Council spokesperson told Metro.co.uk in a statement: ‘The new restrictions in Liverpool do not currently impact on filming in the city region.

‘The Film Office is working closely with every single production to ensure Covid-safe measures are in place and are being adhered to in accordance with rigorous industry protocols.’

The Batman is set for release on March 4, 2022.
