Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) world is about to be turned upside down in Emmerdale, as a phone call changes everything.
This new video shows the initial aftermath of Charity receiving the news. She is sat outside on the steps in tears and is spotted by Cain (Jeff Hordley).
Cain calls out to Charity and wonders if she’s alright and next week, he will eventually learn what’s going on.
Prior to this, a struggling Charity grabs a bottle of vodka and heads out, making a B-line for Caleb’s (Will Ash) car after stealing his keys.
She calls on Caleb’s least favourite person to ride shotgun, Cain, after he witnesses her little bit of theft. But before he can get back out of the car, she flees.
As they take off, Cain learns what it is that has been causing her so much distress, and even he is lost for words.
Actress Emma Atkins told us what is going through Charity’s mind after the news: ‘Charity is emotionally vulnerable at the news she’s been given. There’s a lot of anger to begin with that boils up to the surface.
‘When she starts talking about what’s happened it comes out quite vitriolic, angry and bitter.’ A vitriolic, angry and bitter Charity is not a Charity anyone wants to be near.
But who will get caught in the firing line?
