Coleen Rooney will have to delete her Wagatha Christie post for peace deal with Rebekah Vardy

COLEEN Rooney will have to take down her Wagatha Christie post from social media as part of any peace deal with Becky Vardy.

She had made an 11th-hour offer to Becky to ditch their legal wrangle and avoid a High Court face-off.

But the sticking point is a request that Coleen’s explosive claim, which is still live on her Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages, is finally removed.

A source said: “The accusation is still there for the world to see.

“If they are to shake hands and walk away then Coleen will need to agree to remove it — and that it will never be repeated.”

In her post in October 2019, Coleen said she set a trap to see who was leaking stories from her private Instagram page.

She ended her statement with the line: “It’s . . . Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

Sources say the Wags’ legal teams are trying for a deal where neither has to say sorry.

They will also agree to pay for their own legal costs — which have now spiralled into six figures for each side.

Our source added: “Coleen has never wanted it to go to court and thinks the whole saga has dragged on way too long. But the fact neither side will say sorry means there is still a lot to sort out.”

This is the fourth time 34-year-old Coleen, married to ex-England captain Wayne, 35, has attempted to settle the case.

Dancing on Ice star Becky, 38, wed to Leicester City’s Jamie, 34, has denied leaking stories.

A preliminary hearing last year went in Becky’s favour, but the pair are set to appear at mediation in the next fortnight to avoid a court battle this summer.
