On a video call to a fellow policeman, they told Spider they didn't have enough evidence to arrest Griff yet, so he must take undercover.

Spider explained: "Griff and the others had a bomb. Someone could have been killed. I don't know why he had it or what he has planned for it yet, but he needs to be stopped."

His colleague said Spider needed to carrying on spying on them until they find who is funding the group.

Viewers were shocked at Spider's reckless actions believing someone else can overhear and blow his cover.

Taking to Twitter, one said: "Would you really do a secret video call on a public street!"

Another wrote: "Spider needs to be really careful having video call conversations in dark alley's in the cobbles. Anyone could have been listening."

The pressure of pretending to be a racist thug like Griff and his friends appeared to be too much for Spyder as he opened up to Toyah.

"I know you hate me right now but you've got it all wrong," Spider began.

"All this everything is a lie… I'm not a racist, I'm not a thug. I'm not one of Griff's lackies like the rest of them.

"I'm doing this to try and stop him before he hurts anyone else."

He continued: "I don't know if I can do this anymore" and revealed "I am an undercover police officer."

But Toyah doesn't believe him and ordered him to leave her alone.
