Coronation Street's Eileen Grimshaw has breathed life into the cobbles for 20 years, but she is set to suffer a devastating brush with death in upcoming scenes.
Todd Grimshaw's return has thrown the family into turmoil, after he revealed he was being hunted by a dangerous gangster named Mick.
The former lawyer, who had vanished from Weatherfield for the past three years, has done some dodgy dealings with the wrong people, putting his life on the line.
When a body appeared in the canal, there were fears it could belong to Todd (Gareth Pierce), only for the missing troublemaker to appear on the street.
Corrie spoilers have revealed Todd will put pressure on Eileen (Sue Cleaver) to identify the stranger's dead body in the morgue as his own, hoping it will but evil Mick off his scent.
Eileen considers it, but once she arrives on the scene, she realises she cannot deprive another family of saying goodbye to their loved one.
When Todd learns she backed down, he admits he must vanish forever, as the dreaded gangster is hot on his tail.
However, Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) and George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) cook up an elaborate plan to con the conman, staging a fake funeral on the street to convince him Todd is dead.
Later, Todd lets himself into Eileen's house to hunt for some cash, hoping to find enough dosh to fund his escape effort.
Suddenly, Mick bursts into the property, as Todd scurries into a hiding place.
Confronting Eileen, Mick informs her he had a relationship with Todd, only for the young Grimshaw to have stolen from him.
When Mick hears a noise upstairs and realises Todd is in hiding, he whips out a pistol and holds the family at gun point.
Can Eileen and Todd manage to escape with their lives intact, or could a silver bullet signal the end?
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8pm on ITV.
