Corrie Grace star spills details on ‘awkward’ Sally Dynevor introduction

Coronation Street star Kate Spencer has recalled her awkward first time meeting co-star Sally Dynevor, who plays Weatherfield icon Sally Webster.

The actress, who plays Grace Vickers, ex-girlfriend of Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell), has been on the soap since November 2019, however her storyline is set to get extra juicy in the coming weeks.

And while Kate's life on-screen is getting awkward, when Michael proposes to Grace, it seems she's used to some awkward moments in real life too.

Speaking to Daily Star Online, Kate told us: "In 2011, I was studying in Chicago and I saw Sally, who plays Sally.

"Because my mum is such a massive fan, I did that awkward thing where I went up, 'Please can I get your autograph for my mum?'

"Bearing in mind my mum was in England, this was in Chicago, so I literally got her to sign it and kept it for about three months and took it home."

She went on: "That was nine years ago now, I got the autograph in the restaurant in Chicago.

"Then when I went on-set and I met Sally for the first time, I kind of introduced myself and was like, 'Also, this is really awkward, but I met you nine years ago in Chicago and asked for your autograph.'

"So I guess I was really excited to meet her because it was kind of a weird circle that I was now working with her. That was really exciting for me."

Kate laughed: "I don't think she remembered, it must happen all the time.

"But it was really lovely, and she was like, 'And now you're here! Your mum must be really proud,' and I mean, yeah, my mum is pretty proud!"

Next week in Weatherfield, Grace is stunned when Michael proposes, but has some big news for him – she and little Tianna are moving to Spain.

In a frenzy, Michael abducts Tianna and Grace has no other choice but to call the police, who arrest him on suspicion of child abduction.

Michael admits that he was in the wrong, but tells police he couldn't bear the thought of losing his little girl.

Later, Grace tells Michael she's sorry for all the hurt and that she loves him, suggesting he moves to Spain with her for a fresh start.

But will Michael be swayed?
