Death in Paradise: Don Warrington says filming is ‘demanding’
Death in Paradise fans were delighted to see the drama back on BBC screens earlier this week, with DI Neville Parker (played by Ralf Little) joined by a very familiar face in the form of DS Florence Cassell (Josephine Jobert) who returned to the island of Saint Marie once more. With filming wrapped only a few weeks ago, actor Don today spoke on Sunday Brunch about how the idyllic filming location is actually “not as great” as it looks to the viewer to produce the programme in.
Thursday night’s in January meant the imminent return of the murder mystery-style series.
Last Thursday saw the first episode of season 10 come to screens, with DI Neville back to solve another case on the island.
Of course, one key part of Neville’s character is that the island is not his friend – suffering many ailments which cause island living to be difficult.
And now, cast member Don has admitted it’s not just Neville who finds the island quite complex.

Quizzed by Sunday Brunch presenters Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy on what it’s like to film in Guadeloupe, he noted the challenges which can arise.
He told the pair of the stunning location: “I think the trick is for us to make it look like it’s a great place to work.
“It is, but not as great as it would seem because it has a lot of demands, working under those conditions
He explained what was difficult to deal with: “As I say, it gets very hot!”
Death in Paradise: Ralf Little teases Ben Miller's return
Don described the crew of the show as “amazing” for putting up with filming in the less than ideal conditions.
The actor continued: The crew are never dry, they’re sweating from the moment we start till the moment we finish
“So it’s pretty demanding but at the end of the day, there is the sea, the Caribbean Sea to jump into.
“There is the cold beer at the bar, so it does have its compensations!”

Death in Paradise fans fume as season 10 sees theme tune change [REACTION]
It comes after Don previously teased what was to come for his alter-ego in season 10.
Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press before the latest block of episodes began, he confirmed there would be further tension between Selwyn and Neville.
The pair famously clashed as Neville’s various complaints of the island started to rile up Selwyn.
And when Neville made the surprise U-turn to remain on Saint Marie, Selwyn seemed less than pleased.
Asked whether the tension between the pair would continue, Don said: “Yes, in short. There is an antipathy between them.
“Not from him [Neville] so much but from Selwyn – he finds him very hard to take.
“I suppose, [it’s] rather masochistic to move to a place where the place doesn’t like you? Which I think is Neville’s problem.
“The island doesn’t like him very much. It brings up all his ticks and problems and I think Selwyn finds that exasperating – but the relationship goes up and down.”
He added: “It goes up and down freely. We’re still working it out I guess!”
Death in Paradise airs Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One.
