Eamonn Holmes has shared a sweet photo with Rochelle Humes, along with a cryptic caption, to his Instagram as he faces rumours of being dropped from This Morning's Friday slot.
He and wife Ruth Langsford have reportedly been cut from their regular Friday hosting gig but will keep their school holiday slot – although ITV denies they have been axed.
However it appears Eamonn, 60, has been reminiscing as he shared a photo with Rochelle, 31, in which they are sat on the iconic blue sofa and embraced in a hug, with the both of them smiling wide.
He wrote in the caption: "Just got sent this by my lovely friend Rochelle. That's when a picture is worth a thousand words," along with the thumbs up emoji and praying hands.
The comments section was filled with supportive messages for Eamonn and Ruth from his 696,000 followers, who clearly don't want to see them go anywhere.
One wrote: "You and Ruth should have your own morning show (on a different channel). You'd definitely get a large audience."
Another said: "I only watched This Morning on a Friday. I literally do not find Holly and Phil relatable at all. I feel like they're legends in their own minds.
"I loved you and Ruth, I'm really hoping another show snaps you right up. It's really awful how ITV have treated you and Ruth."
A third commented: "My husband and I just signed a petition for you and Ruth!"
Someone else told him: "You and Ruth are the best things on that show."
While a fifth added: "Won't be watching Fridays now it will never be the same you and Ruth are brilliant."
The rumoured axing has been denied by ITV, with a rep telling Metro.co.uk: "We have a stellar presenting line up on This Morning in Holly and Phillip and Eamonn and Ruth.
"Any additions to this line up will be announced in due course."
It was reported that Eamonn and Ruth will be replaced on their Friday slot by Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary, who proved popular with viewers when they filled in over the summer.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
