Hollyoaks fans know that Cindy Cunningham is nothing if not a trailblazer, so it should come as no surprise that her influence is about reach beyond the land of Chester and all the way to Albert Square!
In historic EastEnders scenes, Kim Fox will read an online article about Hollyoaks stalwart Cindy and her upcycling of clothing.
The piece will ultimately leave Kim feeling inspired.
But wait, since when were EastEnders and Hollyoaks taking place in the same universe?
Well, you see, the country’s biggest soaps and continuing dramas are joining forces to tackle and highlight the issue of climate change and environmental issues.
EastEnders, Corrie, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, Holby City, Casualty and Doctors have each filmed scenes – or have made references to – different aspects of climate change.
In a historic move, five of the soaps will also make reference to one other, making this the first proper crossover in the serial dramas’ long-running history.
Who needs Marvel, eh? We joke.
And Hollyoaks won’t be the only rival soap mentioned in EastEnders next week, as Coronation Street will also receive a nod as part of the climate change project.
Tiffany Butcher-Baker (Maisie Smith) will be seen watching a clip of Corrie’s Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) taking down Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) with an epic rant about air pollution.
