Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) has been left fearing the worst in EastEnders after beating cancer earlier in the year – as she has found a worrying lump in her breast.
Getting ready for Christmas Day, Jean was stunned to find the lump and left traumatised at the prospect that the cancer may have returned.
She previously lost terminally ill Daniel Cook (Ade Edmondson) in moving scenes but has since found herself back at the heart of the family – and even putting wicked Suki (Balvinder Sopal) in her place for pretending to be suffering from the disease.
Jean hasn’t told anyone about the lump she has found and was quietly distant as Martin (james Bye) and Stacey (Lacey Turner) took the attention away with an awkward myriad of mixed up gifts, kisses and arguments.
But is this the beginning of a devastating new battle for Jean or will she get good news?
Or is she set to bury her head in the sand and not seek support due to the fears of what any tests might come back with?
It’s going to be a worrying time for the Walford favourite.
