Since barrelling onto our screens in October 2020 as the long-lost brother of Moira Barton, it’s safe to say that Emmerdale's Mackenzie Boyd has been followed by no shortage of trouble.
From dodgy business dealings to questionable romances, the character has been at the heart of a number of storylines, including most recently his decision to leave his new wife Charity Dingle to pursue a relationship with Chloe Harris, after he managed to knock her up during a one night stand.
Playing happy families with Chloe and their son baby Reuben, Mackenzie insisted he was committed to his new family – but that didn’t stop him from sleeping with his ex just days before the youngster’s christening.
No matter what he does, it seems drama is quick to follow, but thankfully Lawrence Robb, the actor that plays Mackenzie on screen lives a far less eventful life!
The 31 year old star, who will turn 32 this November, originally hails from Kilmacolm, north-west of Glasgow in Scotland – and has always been keen to stay true to his Scottish roots.
Growing up in the leafy village, Lawrence is one of four children, with the star having two brothers JJ and Mitchell Robb and a sister called Abi.
Clearly a close knit family, Lawrence previously shared a snap of the three brothers with their matching personalised registrations plates to his 19,200 Instagram followers, before later sharing a snap of all the siblings together and dressed to the nines for a night out.
Is Lawrence in a relationship?
Lawrence is believed to be in a relationship with actress, writer and director Joanne Thomson, who is also a fellow Glaswegian.
Throughout her career, Joanne has starred in a number of TV series including as DS Lisa Harvey in BBC One drama The Victim, ITV’s In Plain Sight and BAFTA-winning BBC drama The Suffragettes
Taking to Instagram the loved up couple frequently share snaps of each other, especially on their holidays abroad, which have seen them sailing on a yacht with his family in Croatia, Malibu, California, Edinburgh and even Venice.
Does Lawrence have pets?
All any fan needs to do is look at Lawrence’s social media feeds to know he is a huge dog lover and can often be found posting his adorable dachshunds named Peaches and Pip, to his Instagram fans.
In addition to his acting skills, Lawrence is also a talented singer after he studied musical theatre and has shared an acoustic cover of Stand By Me to his followers which saw him playing the keyboard while covering the Ben E. King hit.
Interestingly, Lawrence originally wanted to pursue a career in music and was professionally trained in musical theatre before being bitten by the acting bug.
In a candid admission, Lawrence previously explained that he was simply taking any job as they came along, be it in music or on screen, before finally finding a happy medium with acting on TV and sharing song covers on social media.
While Lawrence's biggest role to date is of course his starring role in Emmerdale, he did previously star alongside Billie Piper in his very first TV role, I Hate Suzie.
