Emmerdale: David Metcalfe speaks to Tracy as Agadoo plays
Emmerdale star Amy Walsh, who plays Tracy Metcalfe on the ITV soap, has admitted to breaking down in tears on her return to the soap following her maternity leave.
The star welcomed her first child with former EastEnders star Toby Alexander-Smith, who played serial killer Gray Atkins, in December 2021.
However, the new mum has struggled with leaving her baby girl Bonnie when she made her return to the Dales.
“The hair and make-up team are like sisters to me. I’ve cried a few times in the make-up chair out of pure exhaustion or dropping my child off at nursery,” she revealed to press including Express.co.uk.
“I went in in tears, and they were like, we won’t do your face first, we’ll do your hair.

“It’s hard, I’m not gonna lie, but that’s because my child isn’t sleeping at the moment,” she said.
“Just the hours you’re here [on set], you leave at seven and then you’re back in the building at seven.

“You’ve got to bath and bed your child and then make your dinner and then do your lines for the next day, talk to your other half and then get back and go again,” she confessed.
There was no easing back into it for the actress however as Tracy arrives back with a bang.
In scenes that will air next week Moira (Natalie J. Robb) and Cain (Jeff Hordly) hear from Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) that Tracey’s ex Nate (Jurell Carter) is heading to the town hall.
Fearing he’s about to do something stupid and fight for custody of his child Frankie, they race off to stop him.
When they spot Tracy in a wedding dress outside the Registry Office they realise that Nate is actually planning to crash her wedding.
Impulsively, Cain kidnaps Nate before he can go inside, knocking him out in the process.
As a dazed Nate comes around in the back of Cain’s van it is clear that this won’t be the end of the matter.
Emmerdale is on ITV Monday to Friday at 7pm
