'I'm your dad!': Mick confirms Frankie is his daughter in EastEnders

Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) stopped Frankie Lewis (Rose Ayling-Ellis) from leaving in EastEnders tonight (January 19), as he confirmed that he is, in fact, her dad.

Frankie came to Walford on a mission to find her dad after she read some letters a young Mick had written to her mum, Katy (Simone Lahbib).

It was subsequently revealed that Mick had been abused by Katy when he was 12 years old, and he struggled to come to terms with such information.

The former landlord of the Queen Vic opened up to Linda (Kellie Bright) over the festive season, but he found himself unable to speak to Frankie just yet.

Frankie has been struggling to come to terms with what her mum did, but with Mick unable to speak about what he went through, she felt unwanted and therefore decided to go to Australia.

In tonight’s episode, Mick celebrated his birthday, but when he got wind of the fact that Frankie was preparing to go to the other side of the world, he swooped into action.

He found her at the tube station, and revealed that he’s been struggling, but that he wants her in his life, because she’s his daughter.

Frankie was emotional, and handed Mick a birthday card — one which said: ‘Happy Birthday Dad’.

The father and daughter embraced in an emotional hug, and no, you’re crying.

EastEnders continues Thursday January 21 at 7:35pm on BBC One.
