Little Mix, made up of Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson, shot to fame in 2011 when they won ITV’s The X Factor. Since then, they have dominated the charts with hit singles, award-winning albums and worldwide tours. So the singing foursome decided they wanted to find the next big band themselves, thus creating BBC One’s The Search.

Little Mix took over Simon Cowell’s role in their new talent contest which came to an end last month.

The four singing sensations put together six bands who then all performed on stage in front of Little Mix and everyone at home.

But when it came down to the public vote, vocal and instrument group Since September were named the first winners of The Search.

The band will join Little Mix on their grand Confetti tour next year which was delayed because of the pandemic.

However, it didn’t go unnoticed that one member of Little Mix was missing from The Search final.

Jesy was not present in the grand finale so couldn’t have her say on all the acts.

She also had to pull out of hosting the MTV Europe Music Awards with the rest of the band.

Now, Jesy is missing from Little Mix’s latest interview on The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV.

So what is the reason behind the Romford singer’s continued disappearance?

At the time of The Search, the band’s spokesperson said Jesy was unwell and this is why she couldn’t attend the talent show’s final.

Following the show, further details were provided regarding Jesy via Twitter.

The tweet said: “Jesy is having extended time off from Little Mix for private medical reasons.

“We will not be issuing any further comment currently and ask media to please respect her privacy at this time.”

No further information has been provided about Jesy’s wellbeing and so the group had to appear on The Jonathan Ross Show as a three-piece.

Perrie, Jade and Leigh-Anne spoke to the presenter about their time on The Search, their upcoming tour as well as what it has been like working as a band for almost a decade.

Perrie said: ‘I don’t think we expected it to be this hard.

“When you’re young and you think of being a popstar, you think: ‘Oh I want everyone to love me and ask for my autograph…’

“Then you get thrown into it and you’re like: ‘Holy s*** balls it’s a lot’.

“We don’t rest, we don’t sleep. But we love success so we’re willing to work for it and it’s been an amazing 10 years!”

They also discussed their love lives, including Jade who is now dating Rizzle Kicks singer Jordan Stephens.

Jade explained: “[Jordan and I] did a few Zoom dates in lockdown.

“We made a joke and said it was business and put suits and ties on and asked each other questions. I did the full shebang.

“Then we had a socially distanced date in Greenwich park, apart from each other just chatting.

“It’s nice doing it that way, we got to know each other. And I’d thought, if this goes terribly I’ll say the Wifi’s gone!”

Fitness coach Joe Wicks and comedian Michael McIntyre are also on this week’s The Jonathan Ross Show.

The Jonathan Ross Show airs every Saturday on ITV.
