Josie was taking part on a floating obstacle course when she slipped and fell into the lake. She screamed as Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield watched on aghast. Ever the professional, the This Morning host pulled herself together telling viewers: “That wasn’t meant to happen.”

As she shared details of the £90,000 competition Josie slipped and could be seen treading water.

“That wasn’t mean to happen! My mic is really expensive,” she told viewers as she tried to stay afloat.

Following the VT with more details about what was on offer for viewers to win the camera panned back to Josie.

She could be seen being lifted out of the water before returning to the obstacle course.

“Josie are you alright?” Holly asked her co-star.

Phillip joked: “This is not the most dignified.”

Josie apologised explaining: “I am so sorry, my sound man is so angry with me, very expensive piece of kit on my back.”

However Holly told her to look at the bright side: “One of my favourite moments of yours ever, Josie!”

Fortunately Josie wasn’t in too much trouble as she explained the mic was actually okay.

“The mic is fine, I am on dry land, think it’s safe, I am here!” she assured the hosts.

“I was so busy treading water not to destroy it [the microphone].”

As the men who helped Josie out of the water were shown, she said: “Luckily I had David Hasselhoff, AKA Ben, here to help me out the water!”

It’s not the first time Josie has had trouble with an obstacle course.

Earlier in the month, the presenter took part in a 5K course in Yorkshire as she presented the competition for Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond.

Unfortunately she struggled to compose herself after completing the task as she couldn’t catch her breath.

“I thought I was fitter than this,” Josie panted.

Dermot and Alison stepped in to present the competition as they gave Josie a chance to catch her breath.

“Are you ok babes? Go easy keep breathing, just breath through it darling,” Alison encouraged.

“If you want to stop just stop, you’ve got nothing to prove.”

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am.
