Kay Burley was suspended from her role as Sky News breakfast anchor after breaking COVID-19 restrictions while celebrating her 60th birthday. After a six month hiatus, the presenter returned to the news channel on Monday but has hinted she’ll be stepping back again after one of her colleagues tested positive for Covid.

She tweeted: “Hi all, one of my hard-working team has tested positive for Covid. Please wish them better. I’ll see you soon.”

Concerned Sky News viewers were quick to question whether she would be self-isolating.

One wrote: “All the best to your colleague for a swift return. Does that mean you all have to isolate now?”

“Very best wishes to your colleague for a full and speedy recovery,” another wrote.
