Good Morning Britain’s Piers Morgan once again made headlines this week by storming off set after his contentious relationship with Meghan Markle was challenged. His subsequent departure from the ITV breakfast show prompted celebratory reactions, including from Lucifer cast member Lesley-Ann Brandt. The Netflix star took to Twitter to share her thoughts.
Lesley-Ann Brandt has called out Piers Morgan’s hypocrisy after the GMB host exited the series on Tuesday.
The long-running presenter stormed off set after his derogatory comments about Meghan Markle were criticised by his co-host, Alex Beresford.
He then made the decision to leave the series for good, after slamming Prince Harry and Meghan for cutting ties with the Royal Family following their landmark interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Brandt took to her Twitter account during the media storm to strongly criticise Piers’ behaviour over the last two days.
She wrote: “So does this mean that if a situation is too much for you to handle, leaving is acceptable?”
Many others have already taken aim at Piers Morgan for his comments about the former Royals’ decision to cut ties with the family.
The former newspaper editor’s actions were considered ‘diabolical behaviour’ by Beresford, and his GMB resignation has been perceived as hypocritical after rallying against the Duke and Duchess for giving up their Royal titles.
He has also come under fire for claiming Meghan Markle was lying about the extent of her mental health issues during her time as a Royal.
He reiterated on Tuesday: “I said as an all-encompassing thing I don’t believe what Meghan Markle is saying generally in this interview.
“And I still have serious concerns about the veracity of a lot of what she said.”
Piers’ actions have caused a storm on social media, with several celebrities admitting they were happy to see him go.
The GMB host was also called out for misogynistic remarks against his co-presenter Charlotte Hawkins’ choice of dress on Tuesday morning.

One fan reminded Brandt: “He also got a female colleague to stand up this morning live on air and show how short her skirt was. He’s just awful.”
“Saw that,” the Lucifer star replied. She then added: “#Bell***.”
In an additional tweet, Brandt also compared Piers’ petty behaviour to reports of President Trump moving portraits of his predecessors to lesser-seen rooms in the White House.
She said: “So Piers Morgan walked off set because he couldn’t take his medicines and Trump hid portraits of former presidents? Man babies.”
Brandt’s followers took to the comments with their support, as one replied: “The thing about Piers he can give it out but when somebody talks back at him he cannot handle it.”
GMB viewers are still waiting to see who will be replacing Piers Morgan on Wednesday morning.
Meanwhile, Lesley-Ann Brandt will be returning as the demon bounty hunter Mazikeen in the upcoming second half of Lucifer’s fifth season.
Lucifer Season 5, Part 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
