Madonna doesn’t seem best pleased that she wasn’t honoured at this year’s Billboard Music Awards.
The Queen of Pop took to the stage on Wednesday night to perform her brand new single with Latino sensation Maluma.
Although her performance has been praised by critics and audiences alike, it seems as though that’s simply not good enough for Madge.
Following her sensational live performance, rival pop star Mariah was invited onto the stage to accept the Billboard Icon Award.
It wasn’t long before Madonna took to social media backstage to share her disdain over the decision to hand the award over to Mariah rather than herself.
While laying on the floor and talking to the camera, she said: “At the Billboard Awards where I will be honoured with nothing… as usual.”
She tagged the video: “Backstage banter.”
Fans rushed to comment underneath, with many suggesting that she appeared to be insulting Mariah.
One fan wrote: “Queen of dragging Mariah.”
A second wrote: “Deserved to win the award! Next year maybe!”
Madonna and Mariah have a checkered history, with the pair famously exchanging insults in the past.
When asked about Madonna back in the 90s, Mariah famously once said: “I haven’t paid attention to Madonna since I was in high school, when she used to be popular.”
Last night’s awards show also saw the likes of Ariana Grande and the Jonas Brothers taking to the stage.
