Mark Wright forced to wait for weeks to play for Crawley Town as he signed too late in the season

REALITY star Mark Wright will have to wait for weeks to play for new side Crawley Town because he signed too late in the season.

The former TV host, 33, is only on non-contract forms with the League Two side.

And despite the fanfare over his arrival, it means he does not get a wage and will be unavailable until January 21.

A source said: “Fans won’t be able to see their star signing for a while as Crawley have already told the league their chosen squad.

"Until then, he’ll have to train without getting paid except for his bus fare.

“He’ll be at the Leyton Orient game on Saturday warming up with the lads but he won’t be anywhere near the squad and won’t for some time.”

Mark has been told he is allowed reasonable expenses such as travelling costs to get to the club’s West Sussex stadium.

The Sun revealed he was going to sign in June — making his TV star wife Michelle Keegan, 33, the EFL’s most glamorous Wag.

Mark tried to play down the story, calling it “far-fetched”.

He had a previous stint at the club in 2006/7 when they were a non-league side, playing at left-back.

He also played for Southend United part-time before joining TV’s Towie in 2010.

Mark has represented England in Soccer Aid celebrity teams and in 2011 he appeared in I’m A Celebrity.

His latest deal means he can quit the squad and pursue a lucrative showbiz opportunity if one were to arrive.
