MasterChef: The Professionals is about to crown its latest winner – and Gregg Wallace, Monica Galetti and Marcus Wareing have their work cut out for them to choose.
After an intense series, the finale airs on Thursday, and the final three will battle it out in the final challenges to see who will emerge victorious.
It’s only after they complete this task that judges will taste test the meals, and decide who will be crowned champion.
Given three hours and 15 minutes, the remaining finalists have to cook a complete three course meal – starter, main and dessert – which combines their cooking skills with their presentation abilities, and full of exciting flavours.
So who has made it to the final and what are their credentials?

Who are the MasterChef 2020 finalists?
Alex – 25, Great Dunmow, Essex
Alex is born and raised in Great Dunmow and landed an apprenticeship at The Savoy in London after attending college.
He was later able to work at Michelin starred restaurants of Hélène Darroze at The Connaught and Roux at Parliament Square.
However, a home boy at heart, Alex now works as head chef at the same restaurant he got his first job in as a pot wash.
‘Growing up I loved competitions – the rush, the hype and the challenge! I decided to enter MasterChef because I wanted to see how far I could go; getting to the final four is something I will always be very proud of,’ he said.
‘It has been hard work and the round with Aktar in the Semi-Finals was so far out of my comfort zone, but I learnt so much from him. The whole competition has been something I will remember forever.’
‘As for what’s next, I will continue to work in the restaurant I do now and I would like to keep learning and pushing myself,’ Alex added.
‘Then, hopefully one day, I will be able to achieve my big dream of owning my own restaurant.’
Bart – 33, Uxbridge, Middlesex
Bart is originally from Doorn and Zuilichem, The Netherlands, and now works as a private chef and runs a food blog.
First working in a kitchen at the age of 16 – he later studied at a culinary school before working in Michelin-starred restaurants including Toine Hermsen and Savelberg.
‘I entered the competition because I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could do real fine dining in my own style,’ he explained.
‘As a private chef I don’t do much fine dining and I really wanted to combine my experience travelling the world with my Michelin star education; MasterChef was the perfect opportunity to do this.
‘It feels absolutely fantastic to get through to the finals. It has been a huge challenge and to get this far is a dream come true.’
On what he plans to do next, he said: ‘I want to explore even more international cuisines and bring my ability to create original dishes to a whole new level.’
Santosh – 35, London
Originally from Nepal, Santosh is now the head chef at London’s Cinnamon Kitchen.
He started his career in Gujarat, India, where he worked to support his family, and it’s here where he found his love of cooking.
When he moved to the UK, he started working in Dishoom, and has since been in the kitchen of London’s Banares and was executive chef of The LaLit London.
He hopes his appearance on the show will encourage people to try Nepalese cuisine.
‘Getting into The Final is a dream come true,’ he said. ‘I entered this competition to promote my country’s food to the world and being able to cook Nepalese food in the competition is very special.’
‘I believe Nepali cuisine is waiting for the right platform to be introduced to the global audience,’ he said of his passions.
‘For the past few years, I have been researching ways to introduce it to people in a way that our cuisine retains its authenticity while also being more accessible to food lovers. I see a lot of scope, as all the native Nepali dishes are easy to cook, and are healthy.
‘I want put Nepalese cuisine on the world map of culinary food one day.’
What do the prize for MasterChef: The Professionals winners?
Due to competition rules on television, there is no cash prize for the winner of MasterChef: The Professionals.
Instead, you get a coveted trophy, and the honour of calling yourself a champion.
MasterChef: The Professionals – The Final airs Thursday at 9pm on BBC One.
